Lanier's product will use IBM's VTT software. The input via the mobile recorder will be distinct enough to allow the VTT process via IBM's software app..

Lenert & Hauspie and Dragon systems have VTT software permitting the smae process via phones or directly into a pc. They've both developed apps. specific for medical dictation and also legal dictation. This became much easier to do with the MMX extension on the pentium chips released over a year ago. Intel's Pentium III cpu will deliver even more power to these apps..

Remember eDig does not want to compete with their customers. They're in the business of design and engineering as an OEM.

Three parts of the world where dictation is often voice transmitted to for manual transcription and return to the U.S. are India, the Philippines, and Central America. All the VTT software still requires human editing and formatting prior to arriving in a finished form.
