Re: Our boy Steve, and "Forces of Nature"...

Haven't seen anybody else post yet regarding Mr. Zahn's latest release, so thought maybe I'd offer my own quick observations...

As some of you may know, "Forces of Nature" was the number-one film at the nation's box-offices this past weekend (knocking "Analyze This" into second place). I saw it Saturday, -- and although Roger Ebert apparently gave it a marginal thumbs-down, I quite enjoyed it. It's a "grows-on-you" kind of film -- starting off in a way that really gives no clue where it's heading, and taking lots of quirky detours along the way (and also getting better & more involving as it goes along).

If I recall correctly, our pal Steve gets fourth billing -- but that's pretty good considering the others involved. Sandra Bullock, Ben Affleck and Maura Tierney all have above-the-title billing, and I think Steve's is the first name AFTER the title. His actual ROLE isn't that big, frankly, and probably won't really do much to advance his career. But he's entertaining while on-screen, and the part is certainly good enough to at least keep his name and face "in the public eye" -- which is what really counts at this point, in terms of "Freak's" potential appeal. And the pending fall-release of "Happy, Texas," of course (the movie recently bought at Sundance, in which Zahn STARS), should further-improve the marketability of "Freak"...

Anybody else seen "Forces of Nature," and have any comments?...
