Company Press Release

Magnum Technologies, Inc. Introduces Suite of
Automated Network and System Management Tools

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 22, 1999--A new company from
Minnesota is making a name for itself in the high stakes arena of automated network and
system management by introducing better products with increased functionality -- and offering them at a cost-effective,
one-time price.

Magnum Technologies' new suite of software tools includes CAP-TREND, an automated trending and capacity reporting tool;
Coordinator, which provides root cause analysis of event storms automatically; and Advantage, which quantifies business
impact based on technology events and defines service expectations. All three products work together or separately, depending
upon a client's needs.

For a free CD demo, call Joe Winkelman at (612) 392-6045, or e-mail at winkelmanj@magnum-tech.com. Magnum's
products will soon be available to download from their Web site at www.magnum-tech.com.

''Our tools turn raw technical data into strategic information that can be accessed via the Web and acted upon by IT
professionals and company management alike,'' said President Greg Crow, who founded the company with Tim Hadden,
executive vice president of research and development.

Because IT failures increasingly represent business failures, IT stability is more important than ever before. Yet only a small
percent of companies with $1 billion in sales or more have the kind of automated network and system management tools
offered by Magnum.

''By using our products, IT professionals can monitor the health and capacity of their company's IT through our tools for
capacity, trending, planning, automated event correlation, and service level monitoring of metrics -- and even quantify the
business impact of IT events,'' Crow said.

Founders create tools from experience at major corporate posts

Founders Hadden and Crow worked on IT management teams at two different national airlines with additional experience at
retail and banking institutions before founding Magnum Technologies.

''We set about developing the network and system management tools we wished we'd had,'' said Hadden. ''We knew from
experience what would have made our lives easier, and thus the ideas for our CAP-TREND and Coordinator products were
born.''

The Magnum Technologies team has worked over the past year to develop its suite of network and system management
products. Magnum, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Minneapolis-based Global MAINTECH, Inc. (NASDAQBB: GLBM), a
manufacturer of computer systems, has been able to take advantage of MAINTECH's resources to focus its efforts exclusively
on product development.

''Magnum's products can substantially improve the IT infrastructure of many corporations. Their unique products will greatly
increase corporate IT management capabilities,'' said James Geiser, CFO and secretary of Global MAINTECH.

According to Crow, an added benefit of the Magnum tools is that they break down walls between network and system
management teams. ''Our products provide graphed reports on both network and system performance -- often on a single
page -- giving IT and company management alike a broad perspective on IT performance.''

Magnum's tools also interface with existing components to organize data, safeguarding network and system performance, to
reduce events and identify business impact. All three products work together or separately. They are easy to install and
integrate into existing systems and networks. For example, CAP-TREND takes just 10 minutes and Coordinator takes less
than an hour to install. CAP-TREND and Coordinator will automatically recognize and integrate new devices as they are added
to a customer's environment. And they require zero administration to maintain.

Minneapolis-based Magnum Technologies, Inc. helps solve IT problems and provide significant value to its clients through
leading-edge network and system management tools that monitor and safeguard IT performance, increase network and system
reliability, and provide the best possible return on a company's IT investment.

Founded in 1992, Global MAINTECH manufactures and sells computer systems that monitor and control a wide range of data
center computers. The company's core product, the Virtual Command Center (VCC), is a master console that provides
simultaneous control, operation and monitoring for mainframe, midrange, UNIX, Microsoft NT and networks.
