From the company filings I've read, it seems that prices are decent for newsprint but still have not recovered for coated and fine-coated papers. Many bellweather paper cos., such as Fletcher Challenge Paper, have downsized capacity or even eliminated operations in fine-coated papers. Raw Material (pulp prices) have buoyed paper co. results through their stagnation.
As for Copper, the best pure play is Asarco (AR). Prices retouched the low of around .60 last week and are now at .64, but there is no clear consensus on the short-to-medium term outlook.
