There are many that would argue with you on that issue. In finite figures I believe you are right, but on relative terms, the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. Please note that I did differentiate between finite and relative comparisons.

Is it enough for social unrest - nah, so the U.S. no big deal. Im not saying that the lower classes have not improved, they have a little but not as much as the upper class.

Is the middle class really doing better, with plastic money and increasing personal bankruptcies, Im not sure. I guess it can be argued both ways. Again - YES,YES,YES disposable income has increased, but does it really mean they are wealthier.
