Clinical observations in the field, contacts between trial clinics and Xoma contacts, ward whispers, order forms, wastebaskets, golf courses -- all that and more are fertile fields for informing one's speculation and getting out or into a stock on a timely basis -- something we long-time Xoma longs obviously failed to do. Viz, Murphy's mysterious/coincidental/serendiptous trade out of Xoma last year shortly after recommending the stock and shortly before it took a 50% haircut. Who once said something like, "there is no such thing as coincidence only different levels of knowledge?" Maybe it was me.
