I would agree with you about DELL losing some of its luster on the market. I think with DELL's recent partnering with IBM for parts, DELL might realize some increased profits but the IBMs and CPQs will are quickly learning DELL's tricks in the market and are starting to match DELL. IBM in fact now can leverage DELL's mftr. process as part of the new IBM/DELL agreement.

CPQ is a different story. They are an OEM Leader that is much more diversified than DELL. They will do well although I dont see the fantastic stock price growth potential that I think we will see with the NOVL stock over the next year+. CPQ is one of NOVL's biggest OEM partners (if not the biggest). These two companies are very good friends, but I see the other OEMs - in particular IBM - stepping in to grab a piece of the NOVL rising pheonix.

I think we will actually see NOVL's stock reach as high as $35-$40 by year-end. My Jan1 prediction for NOVL was initially $30 but I think the NDS hysteria has caught on faster than I expected. I knew the industry would figure it out sooner or later. That is why last spring I predicted NOVL's stock to be at $20 by end of '98.

The NDS story is incredible and the industry has not even seen the true value of NDS yet. Most industry and media still dont have a good grasp of the Directory Services potential. There are unfortunately a lot of MSFT customers that are holding onto the Active Directory promise which will really screw them in the end.

I dont want to convince you to pump everything into NOVL but I have a very very strong belief that NDS will become the industry standard of Directory Services (even after Active Directory shows its ugly head). I also think that NOVL will soon transform into an "Internet" stock in the eyes of Wall Street which we all know what that does to the stock price.

Just my thoughts! Congrats on your current profits already Rude!
