Excellent points Goodboy,

If you don't know Wind River, their products, market share and competitors, then I don't think you can comment strongly about the market that I am speaking to. Just my opinion.

No, you're right on there Goodboy. As I noted earlier, I don't really know a lot about Wind or their products and I appreciate your shedding light on that area. This is pretty technical stuff and is beyond my scope. My perspective is from the layman's point of view - and more of a question or observation than any answers.

My view is more along the lines of what is noted in the article referred to in post #4480 from SBerglowe: .....and it's not clear that Sun and Microsoft can successfully jump right into such a sophisticated and unique market as embedded systems. Nonetheless, companies of this size and market influence warrant respect as competitive threats........... Even so, the competitive threat from Sun and Microsoft has had Wind River's share price in a holding pattern for over a year, after soaring for several years prior....

Anyway - just one guy's opinion

Thanks

Bill C.
