It's not just how much you spend, it's what do you get for your money. When they spend money on corporate welfare or on non-competitive weapons appropriations, it is indeed a waste. But if money is invested efficiently in our country's economic and social infrastructure, it can be as valuable as any other form of investment.

Government hardly has a monopoly on unwisely spending capital! As you and so many others have documented on this thread, we are in the middle of an orgy of capital misallocation by the private sector. Greenspan is, after all, a tool of the businesses that want the party to continue.
