Brave New World...

I was just reading through the Datapower Executive summary, and it occurred to me that we are investing more in a surveillance company than a videophone company. If you notice, the anticipate their largest seller to be their Videowatch product line. BH also thinks that their quad camera set up that is due later this year will be a big hit. It makes sense, though if you think about it since they can achieve much better picture one way (since they don't have to split the bandwidth for two way transmission). Low cost surveillance cameras over POTS might be the bread and butter of this company. I've read several articles about this trend of putting cameras everywhere. A company like Datapower can definitely benefit from this pheneomenon.

Low cost video surveillance will probably be in demand by governments around the world. They even mention increased terrorist activity in the executive summary. The fact that one of their executives has a top secret clearance probably adds legitimacy to this part of the market. How many of their competitiors can claim the same? I see a lot more revenues for Datapower considering the potential size of this market...but it reminds me of a movie I saw with Will Smith about surveillance cameras watching one's every move...we are one step closer to that reality.
