One of the unfortunate things about technology in general and this forum in particular is that it was, until about a year ago, possible to take anyone elses's name and either use it or change it slightly to obtain a password and post on the board.

As you mention, I advised the operators of this board and usenet that my name was being used to post fictitious comments, which I believe were used to create distrust of our service and our recommendations.

As you also note (without realizing it), many of the posts conflicted with each other and were not reconcilable. These posts caused me and my two partners to question our roles on both usenet and this board, because fake e-mail adresses were used to post the messages.

Since then, both usenet and the silicon investor have tightened their security. We believe it is now impossible for anyone to post under our names. However, I think that anyone who depends on this type of forum to make investment decisions ALONE is makng a big mistake.

We thoroughly research all companies before making recommendations. However, as we are all amateurs, it is always possible to make a mistake. That is why the disclaimers are so important.

Cyanotech was manipulated. I have talked to the market makers and understand that now. However, I am not responsible for what goes on in the marketplace. They are a fine company with great prospects and real earnings.
