This is an outstanding company that I have been in on and off for the past 10 years.
This stock has split, I believe, at least 3 times in the '90's and has had a definate trading pattern of going down to the 14-15 range and then up to 50, splits, falls, and starts the whole process ovedr again.
I don't buy many stocks that trade over 5 bucks or do 4 billion in sales, but Smithfield is an exception. It may drift a little lower, but is an outstanding Long-term holding, and a steal if it gets to the mid teens.
The environmental issue on the table is a non-issue, and should have no impact on the company. Bring on the Fat-Free pig!
