I only spend my time here, when something is off-base.
You wrote: Did this thread changed its name to "Ask Patroller and Paul"?(and 18) If thats not the case, how come opinions are so one-sided and differed opinions are flamed?!?
Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
But if someone comes in with a theory that is off the mark (like the insinuation that Solectron will take significant business from Jabil), then I show up. This insinuation isn't consistent with my read of the sector trends, and totally different than what I'm hearing and seeing.
When I post, I discuss substantial reasons and analysis outlining my position. This takes me a lot of time, more than most posters spend.
Would you rather I remain silent? Over the last three months, I haven't posted much, except for the flurry of posts on the Solectron competitive threat.
I could go away and not come back... will that make the thread better?
Let me finish by at least getting some substantial analysis in this post, instead of responding to your 'flame'.
In the last Q conference call, Jabil management said that Cisco will be a 20% customer again this fiscal year, in spite of top line revenue growth for the company of 60+%!!! This means they are picking up about $250-270M of new Cisco business this fiscal year (ending in August). This is incredible that they are growing the Cisco business 60+% year over year. Cisco isn't growing that fast. That means they are picking up some manufacturing previously done by another player.
Wonder who that could be?? (Hint, Solectron is one of Cisco's largest suppliers.)
Now if I know this, why shouldn't I post about it? In this case the negative (short seller) poster apparently had it all wrong, regarding the competitive threat to Jabil. Should I remain silent? Why?
