Blue, as always you make me THINK and of course you didn't miss a thing! How lucky you are to have those great dogs, and the history of that bearskin rug must surely be a powerful inspiration to them to talk to you if they sense a threat to the family and property they guard emanating from it!
Gotta LOL about the Xwife (grokking the "X" as slogan for my X-File "The Untruth Is Out There") and looking back it's easy to see the warnings that Cupid made invisible at the time, isn't it?! If I knew then what I know now - such as... "KNOW WHEN TO RUN" - I Know Now a good time for a graceful getaway before-it's-too-late is when they're making check marks about whatever characteristic is in focus, behaving like some director assembling a cast...flying into a rage if you pass the audition, but then flub reading the script....

These minus tide times ARE kinda fun, aren't they? Relax, chat, watch a few wigglers in the tidepools, standouts for one reason or another, easy to spot 'em, wondering if it's worth the effort to get the net...which reminds me of another story from the "X Files", but everybody knows about that one, too - same story, different heads.
