... advanced humans should sing (and live) in praise of collectivistic, tribal, animal altruism

You see, you continue to deny the forces of evolution! Behavior is programmed to a large extent (and our approval or disapproval is irrelevant). It is the pervasive existence of animal society that argues for its adaptive value. Let's start out with a simple proposition: the only thing that separates man from the rest of the animals is man's belief that he is somehow different. This immediately frees us from the intellectual constraints of tautology and religion, and allows us, instead, to focus on evidence.

The thrust of your question is really no different than, say, arguing the merits of bipedalism or sexual dimorphism. They are simply facts. And railing against fact does not change anything.

Think about this: communication is a natural outgrowth of animal social groupings. Communication leads to communal defense, mating rituals, and other easily recognizable animal behaviors. But it also leads to learning from other members of the group. It is one more manifestation of our animal tribalism that allows you and me to talk with one another. The selective forces that favored the development of speech would have found no focus in a non-tribal millieu.
