Del, that news re: Budd is a few weeks old, and measured against Budd's entire family's holdings, some consider insignificant. Me - I'm happy to see it, and half a million cash is never insignificant.
Now...I'm looking and waiting to see if Mr. Johnston, the new outside director, "buys in". My bet is "yep"...we'll see the filing when it's time. Haven't heard anything towards this - just a hunch that a retired RJR senior exec knows something about 1) class actions, and ultimate [non]impact, 2) agri-business and bio-tech 3) turnarounds, 4) consolidations, 5) soliciting and gaining analysts confidence, 6) restoring credibility, 7) industry trends towards MACC/seed industry control, 8) and has a few bucks to invest, since his [former] tobacco industry is, well, "under siege" these days. Not a great place to leave money right now IMHO.
Just random thoughts.
