My guess is Terry has not had a newborn nuzzling at him. One of their fascinating responses is that if something touches their cheek,Stimulus) they turn blindly toward it looking for a nipple (Response). They will do this without fail; well, at least mine did. I'm not sure it was triggered by hunger per se: it was just an--instinct! They have no perception of their own hunger in a conscious way.
