Here is a short answer for such a down day. The reasons given today for the down market,oil prices,poor computer sales,tech earnings warnings etc, have very little to do with CMGI. This is a major buying time for CMGI.
By the time the stock splits at least twice more this year,and 4-7 IPO's are hatched, Lycos gets settled, and our version of "Broadcast.com" comes out, you will have long forgotten about this day. I have tried to keep to date with the more than 42 companies in CMGI's hatchery, and it's hard to do. These puppies are designed to work together,synergistically. I'm holding long, with soon to be 4430 shares plus some leaps and have no intention of some worrywarts shaking me out of my position which will easily make my family a million by the end of the year and bring on a early retirement.
Yes you get self-doubt during times like this,and feel you should have sold and locked-in profits,but it's at these times you remember previous dips and then the bigger rallies. That's what we get with a beta of 2.8. If it gets you ulcers, then don't look at the market hourly,or just sell your stock and go to T-bonds at 5%.
Remember,that out of over 10,000 stocks in the USA in 1998,CMGI had the SECOND BEST GAIN of 902.3 % gain as reported by 3/2/99 MONEY magazine.
So relax,let the weak holders be shaken out, and if you have spare cash look at finding a bottom and buy some fall calls of CMGI with a strike price somewhere close to cash price.
