bp, arm the Serbs? You may mean the Kosovar. But frankly, this non sense about nationalities is just that, non sense. Look at France and Germany, eternal enemies since Charlemagne's days, now, both prospering (more or less) and they will not lose that prosperity for some futile national identity.

No, it is not so much nationality as it is religion (Moslems vs Eastern Orthodox) and thus the possibility that this conflagration starts and revives old animosities between Greek and Turks and who knows who else. There was a point in the Bosnian problem when Iranian and Lybian "volunteers" started to join the Moslems forces, and forcing the parties to the table arrested what could have become a major world wide Christain/Muslems confrontation. The same danger exists now, but bombing nor occupation will solve it. Give the populace something to lose (the good life of a middle class) and they will lose their appetite for "revolution" and nationalism with it. Right now, Marx' words apply there, "you have nothing to lose but your chains...". Give them something to lose, and they'll fight their government with teeth and nails to keep it.
