Maybe this is a word barrier. Do you accept Virtue as a descriptor for the stoic's well-rounded ideal? If no, then sorry - I'll need to restate. (It can be argued that I just did that... recursive logic has a charm all its own)

Process as ideal. I see good news and bad news here. The good news is that it is a broad, inclusive way of defining good. It provides a mechanism to revise or edit out emergent prejudice or otherwise obsolete thinking.
The bad news is that it is not easily distilled. If I understand correctly, Homer championed the journey, the process, as a mythic archetype. But it took a pair of long (for the period) books to lay out this idea.
