Thank you for your appreciation. I was surprised to see an announcement right after I made the call, but I still think there's more to come for the reasons I outlined before. Here's a quick summary of my rational:

Portals: looking for services they can provide in order to attract viewers than will 1) provide advertising revenue and explore revenue producing links of portal further and 2) earn portal commissions by purchasing items searched for on price comparison service.

E-Commerce Sites: Amazon has set the trend. Now any site that claims to have the lowest prices but isn't willing to back it up with proof, ie. search capabilities, is not credible. The upside of a price search engine is that even if a commerce site doesn't have the lowest prices, it will still be paid through commissions when customers purchase goods elsewhere. Moreover, it will still earn advertising revenue from the customer that got away. Also, even the most price sensitive shopper may spend some time exploring the site for unique, or at least unusual goods that he can't find price comparisons on. Or, he may find that its better to do one stop shopping at that site in order to avoid inordinate shipping costs.

Alright, that's enough for me tonight. Sadly, I've got work to do.
