I guess it is a matter of semantics. I expect companies to do spin control in press releases and public statements -- this is natural and well within the boundaries of ethical behavior. I also expect companies to release significant news events that may have an impact on the share price -- with positive spin.

What I do consider to be unethical, is for individuals or investor relation firms to hype stocks to create buying volume -- and then sell into the spike.

As for bashing, I don't see many real bashers out there -- that is, someone that is posting deliberately to drive the price down so they can either cover a short or depress the price so they can buy at a lower price.

Most of the "Bashers" are in fact people that have enough experience to recognize the various forms of scams that are prevalent on SI and are pointing them out for general edification and the sheer joy of being the first person to be right in spotting a scam.

Stock that are spiked nearly always drop back down to the pre-hype price in a matter of weeks. All of the people that buy near the top either have dead money till the next spike or a tax write-off. These people are called "sheep" and there are a lot of them hanging around SI waiting/hoping for the next news release.

As for Daniel, anyone that bothers to read his early posts can figure out what his agenda is -- the Ches thread is a case in point.
