Info on Gateway 3.0 and NEW SERIES 480, new voice algorithms

Looks like Ensemble Sound software is VocalTec answer to gateway quality. Hope it improves the problems you point out.

Gateway 3.0 seems to be an older version of their least sophisticated gateway - I'm glad to see it's far from their best effort.

Overview: Designed for small-to-medium sized service providers, global enterprises and web-enabled call centers, the VocalTec Telephony Gateway Series 30 Release 3.3 utilizes a unique technology which improves the flexibility and performance of modern communications systems while reducing the cost of long distance charges. Building on the award-winning Internet Phonesoftware from VocalTec, the VocalTec Telephony Gateway successfully bridges the gap between the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and the Internet/intranet to enable unlimited long-distance calling. Release 3.3 offers universal port, real-time fax capabilities in addition to the state-of-the-art voice functionality typical of the VocalTec Telephony Gateway 30 Series. A fully integrated operational design supports multiple types of calling.

NEWS! A reference to the '480 series' gateway has just appeared on the VocalTec website. vocaltec.com This is the BIG Carrier class gateway developed in conjunction with ECI Telecom we have all been waiting for. No link to more info. - this makes me think an announcement will be soon, followed by the addition of such a link on their site.

Interesting reference to Excel switching being used in ITXC network in their recent press release posted on this thread. Makes me think the switch developed in conjunction with VocalTec is being used on the QT - wonder why?
Regards, Dave
