Yes Oliver, and since there are only a few Globalstar service providers, it should be very easy for them to come up with a roaming agreement and billing system.

It looks from the previous post that more and more people are realizing that this is going to be a very competitive business. ICO should cancel now before they waste more money.

Somebody a couple of days ago worried that the real problem for Globalstar from Iridium will be if it goes bust and is sold on to somebody who can then afford to cut the price to competitive levels. That's wrong because the minutes are already up there and they will be sold at what the market will bear or they will rot in space and Iridium will get less money than they could by pricing them low enough to sell them all.

Whether the system doesn't quite go broke, or does and is bought by somebody else, won't affect how many competing minutes there are. Maybe a new owner won't be quite so reluctant to cut prices and get the thing moving.

The complexity in roaming as shown in the previous post together with all the weird pricing plans means a price on the handset's screen would save the subscriber a headache and bandwidth. Which means increased value to subscribers and creating value is what we are trying to do.

AirTouch/Vodafone is the main service provider partner and covers most of the world so it isn't going to be too hard to get roaming agreements. They can just have a chat with themself; and perhaps a couple of other partners such as China Telecom.
