Cheeky, about that article:

"Deutsche Bank's Ed Yardeni used his Y2K warnings to make him one
of the highest-profile economists in the world. Unlike Mr. de Jager,
though, his crisis forecast is still intact. He stands by his prediction
that there is a 70-per-cent chance the Y2K problem will trigger a
global recession."

Yardeni was already one of the highest profile economists in the world before y2k was a buzzword. The "Unlike ..." statement is also misleading. I think de Jager would agree with Yardeni's current take on y2k. The name of de Jager's recent article is "Doomsday Avoided", but a global recession is not doomsday. The article also is lame on the implications of foreign y2k noncompliance on the US.
