Zeuspaul, Do you think the hardrive in a Dell laptop will use the standard IDE interface cable connection? If yes, then this is an excellent idea and I will get to work on it. The computer does boot to win95, but then freezes and no programs or files can be accessed. You can not get a dos prompt either, and I tried everything including pulling the battery while it was running to trigger a fault that I hoped would lead to safe mode. Its quite maddening, but I was mad anyway. Thanks for you help, you guys have saved me about a dozen times now. Thurston
