FWIW there is a compromise for anyone who is interested in going beyond the limits of "free" charts but who is not yet ready for the investment in a sophisticated program like TradeStation.

It's the IQC stock tracking program called IQ Charting. The program is free to download, and the data flow is $24.95 per month, after a two-week free trial. Data is delayed 20-minutes, but a real-time feed is also available at additional cost.

It permits display of umpteen different technical indicators, with the parameters for each adjustable by the user. It also permits one to build a set of indicators (and parameters) and then to "scan" the database of stocks to find those which presently meet those criteria. True back-testing is less automated than with TradeStation, but with a paper and pencil <uggh!> to jot down values at various points in time, a reasonable back-test can be done, once you have determined what you are testing for.

Weak point: the stock database omits many penny stocks, including TSIS.
