I don't think it's as much the "blood on the streets" scenario as it is the subordinated debentures weighting down the price. I'm not the only one who thinks this:

99.03.19 - Sportsline (NASDAQ:SPLN - news) looks like it's cashing up for battles ahead with a $150 million worth of 5% convertible subordinated notes due April 1, 2006. The notes convert to SPLN common at $65.125

Once this drag on stock price gets factored in, the potential for acquisitions that help SPLN's bottom line becomes obvious, and the net effect should be very positive. IMO.
