Chuck,

I noticed your postings in the past and I'm incredibly curious about your change of position on S3.

I bought back in October when the momentum players were getting out and have held out through their departure, the non-event of Comdex, the year-end tax related selling, the dark shadow of MMX, four rounds of options expiring and god knows what else.

If you knew that Intel was no threat to S3 why did you short it? (that's my assumption of what was driving your earlier posts) If you simply saw a great opportunity to make some money in the short term, fine, but all along were you convinced of S3's slow and agonising demise or just astutely using the street's fear of the situation and meanwhile perfectly well aware or even well informed of S3's market leadership?

Not to get too far off the subject, but C-Cube is getting unfairly punished now too and your insight into S3 could be very valuable to everyone whose stocks have come under attack for the same reason - dare I say misperception by the market?

PS: For what its worth, my take on S3's recent health is this (since December): Momentum players out, shorts in, stock falls but won't break bottom at 16, volume dries up. Shorts showly leave but so do a lot of the bulls from this thread. S3 meets with institutions who quietly increase their holdings and later pronounce their blessing.
