About stock manipulation, well, first of all it's a little like astrology - you believe in it when it's convenient, but underneath it all you understand that you're in control of your own destiny. Someone asked to have it explained, so I explained the theory, using TPII as a case study -- but that doesn't mean I'm certain it's being manipulated just as I spelled out. I do believe that it does occur sometimes, though.
As for the specifics of your questions that you wouldn't want to have me bother answering: I didn't mean to imply that they had complete control of the pricing. If they wanted to drop the price down to $.60, they almost certainly couldn't, because people like me would snatch it up before it got that low. Similarly, what would be the point in them driving it higher if there was no news to fuel the stock? There would be no buyers for the shares they would want to unload at those prices. When will they stop accumulating TPII? Well, when did they start? I think it's pretty clear this stock was dropping all on its lonesome up until now, because there was nothing going on to interest any investors. They came out with gangbuster plans, and it took them too long to follow through. I think if there has been ANY accumulation (and I'm not sure it has occurred) it would have been recently, with the buzz about news coming. The stock is trading at many times its typical daily volume but the price isn't moving in response. That's the only indication I have that there might be some market maker hijinks.
What I'm trying to say is...oh what am I trying to say? That manipulation is possible, even if it isn't necessarily occurring, in anticipation of a run-up. However, I'm not paranoid enough to believe that manipulation is the reason the stock went down under $1.00 in the first place.
Good luck
