Hello Maryann, loved your post!
>>>I posted you in the very begining and I am certainly happy to hear that you don't have cancer.<<<
Uh, I wish that were the case! All this surgery proved is that I don't have cancer in my pelvic lymph nodes, the "gateway" to the rest of the body. I still have the fairly aggressive tumors in my prostate gland which will be implanted with iodine-125 seeds this coming Monday, followed by six weeks of "conformal beam irradiation". Should be a cake walk compared to what I have been through so far!
>>>>However, what I was trying to say to you before was that because our health care is tied to the HMO's it is our responsibilty to know what is going on with our own health. There seems to be one step missing they forgot to send us to medical school.<<<<
Amen!!! That whole deal with Hillary and the nationalized health care, blah, blah, blah sure fell by the wayside in a hurry didn't it???? I guess gays in the military was a more urgent issue. Maybe they could apply "don't ask, don't tell" to the healthcare industry? In other words, pay your $120 per week for a HMO (approx what mine cost), don't ask for any medical attention or information, and then they won't tell you that whatever treatement they can offer is sub-standard anyway!
Sound reasonable?
Well, Melissa (my lawfully wedded spouse) called the primary care physician today and asked her to review all of my surgery files...Surprise!!!!! Everything looked in order and she said she thought a second opinion was unnecessary at this point! Good news. I immediately threw on my carpenter's belt and commenced re-siding my house, funny what a different perspective can do for your prognosis, eh????<g>
So, I guess all this anxiety was just that, anxiety. You know how the uneducated public gets all worked up over nothing. Besides, I learned that if I turn the water up hot enough the blood clots are no problem at all, water under the bridge so to speak!
Thanks for your message!
