Hi Jack and fellow PYNG faithful,

While we all wait for the "more frequent" forum updates promised recently by M. Jacobs it is interesting to see and speculate about the impact "nurses" might have on the FAST-1's future in hospitals and clinics around North America. I have been told that both nurses and doctors working in ER's currently handle trauma IV's and I keep hearing that the nurses in our neck of the woods handle more and do a better job.

The AACN [ American Association of Critical-Care Nurses ] will be holding

"The 1999 National Teaching Institute and Critical Care Exposition"

in New Orleans [ May 15 to May 20 ]

wherein "THOUSANDS" of critical care nurses will meet and review advances in both processes, products and other areas of critical care nursing. TRAUMA care is right up there near the top of the list of subjects.

Although PYNG is not shown as one of the "exhibitors" it may not be too late to jump in as AACN president Ms. Mary G. McKinley is said to be most receptive to exhibitors providing any new tools which could significantly enhance "life saving" capabilities of critical care nurses.

There can never be too many people on the PYNG band wagon and getting the nurses on board would be terrific !!!

I hope our management sees fit to comment on this in the near future.
