I received a PM suggesting from a helpful reader to the effect that my Dakota "DC8" was, in fact, a DC3. I think the suggestion is right.

Anyway, since we are on the topic - here are some of the unusal things I have done on planes (as passenger):

1. Looped the loop, in a Chipmunk.
2. Fast run in a Vampire double tailed jet fighter.
3. Piloted a glider.
4. Rescued from Brazilian border rain forest in a two-seater Cessna.
5. Many standing-up trips in a DC3.
6. Cross-country, over the Rockies trip in a storm in a 4 seater something or other piloted by a woman, between NWT and the Yukon.
7. DC3 trips in Canadian North.
8. Caused a Jumbo jet to be halted as it was straining to go on the runway in Trinidad, when radio message to the pilot said I had not cleared passport control.

etc etc etc
