Some date information that I just found:

TEN AUCTIONS ON FCC'S PLATE IN 1997, SAYS FARQUHAR

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) just announced it has
a full plate of auctions slated for the rest of 1997, including
licenses for:

* for wireless communications services (WCS);

* 220 megahertz (MHz) service;

* local multipoint distribution service (LMDS);

* general wireless communications services (GWCS);

* 39 gigahertz (GHz) spectrum;

* 800 MHz specialized mobile radio (SMR) service; and

* narrowband personal communications service (PCS).

Michele Farquhar, chief of the FCC's Wireless Telecommunications
Bureau, said she expects the WCS final order will be issued this
week, the auction of the 220 MHz service spectrum will happen by
summer and the auction of the 800 MHz SMR and paging licenses
will occur before the end of the year.

I DON'T SEE 38 GHZ ON HERE........
