Brightpoint Completes Brazil Acquisition
INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 24, 1999--Brightpoint, Inc. (Nasdaq:CELL - news) announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary Brightpoint do Brasil Ltda. (''Brightpoint do Brasil'') has completed the acquisition of all of the common shares of Cellular Services S.A. (''Cellular Services''). Cellular Services was controlled by Mr. Andre Cunha, who has become President of Brightpoint do Brasil.
Brightpoint do Brasil is a leader in the provision of distribution and integrated logistics services to the wireless communications industry in Brazil. In addition to its distribution business, Brightpoint do Brasil provides warranty repair service for Nokia (NYSE:NOKA - news), Ericsson (Nasdaq:ERICY - news) and Motorola (NYSE:MOT - news).
