Hi pals, sure do get in a strange frame of mind when I know that others lives today are ending and at risk in this Kosovo action. When I posted about stocks after we posted about war, and then Blue didn't answer too quickly, I was afraid I had been disrespectful of the underlying seriousness of today til saw Blue's post which as always made me THINK. Doing anything normal today is more of an effort than usual: whether trading, writing a stock or lighthearted post, the dayjob, eating a nice lunch, petting the cat, all these activities makes me feel sheepish like I just laughed too loud at a wake before the sun goes down if you know what I mean. But, as at a wake who hasn't stopped to think "Someday I'll be at one where I won't be in the audience", same as Blue likes to trade on such days to show support is how I felt trading and writing about it, too. Maybe that's why the market at large is bolstered when these things happen, maybe I shouldn't be disgusted about it, but proud. I was thinking before it's profiteers and akin to the roar of the crowd at a sports stadium... but now don't think so, anymore. It's showing support and sympathy in the only way we can, from our comfortable puterside seats. Just like we go on living after another who we loved has stopped... days like today we trade the stockmarket in our #1 Country of All The World and pray what's happening elsewhere is over quickly for all who must endure it; while remembering and Thanking To Our Troops Who Protect Us So We Can. As Bud Fox's Boys are there with the others, then we got The Best of The Best of The Best Of All On It, and so it should be over quicker with less tragedy we hope.
Did some good trades today, got some cash out for sure, put basis and then some back in, waiting for the next move, as always.
Hang in there All-Americans,
Joan
