Digital Microwave Corporation Leases Brazil Manufacturing Facility

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Microwave
Corporation (Nasdaq: DMIC) today announced that it has taken the
initial steps for manufacturing in Brazil. The Company has leased a
facility located on the Rua Fernao de Camargo in Campinas, Brazil,
which has approximately 630 square meters of space for both
manufacturing and offices. Tenant improvements, including equipment
installations, are scheduled for completion by June 1999, and low
volume manufacturing of the XP4 microwave radio is expected to start
at that time. Further volume production is anticipated in the
following six months. Quality standards to ISO-9002 levels are to be
implemented and registered for the facility in the first year.
Digital Microwave Corporation has operated DMC do Brasil Sales and
Service offices since 1997. Prior offices were located in Rio de
Janeiro and Campinas, Sao Paulo. The new facility lease has a three-
year term.
