Tetran, thank you for sharing your opinions. I would agree that any alliance with LU would be a big help but I respectfully disagree with your opinions on CSCC's products. I would agree that ASND/USRX (and CSCO/Bay) are going to be tough in remote access. However, MAX TNT is the only real competition for the AX product line at the moment and the AX has some advantages. While I have no delusions of CSCC putting ASND out of business, I think CSCC has good opportunities in remote access. Specifically with Bell Atlantic, Nynex, AT&T and US West...in the end, they are going to be the big ISPs. The Sahara stuff will do well later this year too, IMO.
As to VPN/IP, I would argue that CSCC is way ahead here. AT&T is testing IP Navigator now and IF IT IS WHAT THE CO. SAY IT IS, it will be a big hit. In the conf. call they mentioned another IXC would be testing IP Navigator in February as well (WCOM?) and I expect we will know if it is what they say it is by the end of the next conf call. Who knows, maybe it doesn't work and that's why the stock continues to tank.
Finally, NN, NT and CSCO are going to be tough in ATM. (and Fore) I expect CSCC to more than hold their own. The recent ATM wins at Nynex, Bell Atlantic, GTE, Bell South, WCom, and China attest to that.
We shall see what we shall see.
