SAFESKIN CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER TERRANCE J. BIEKER

Resigns: Richard Jaffe Resumes COO Duties

Jaffe To Increase Active Role in Day-to-Day Operations

SAN DIEGO, March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Safeskin Corporation (Nasdaq: SFSK), a leading developer and manufacturer of powder-free, disposable latex and synthetic gloves for the healthcare, high-technology and scientific industries, today announced that Richard Jaffe, the Company's Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, will resume the responsibilities of Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately and will take a more active role in the day-to-day operations of the organization. After fifteen months as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Terrance J. Bieker has resigned his duties to pursue other business opportunities. "After careful consideration of the Company's strategic direction, I decided it was appropriate for me to take a more hands-on role in managing the business at this time," said Mr. Jaffe. "Terry has made many valuable contributions to Safeskin in his position as COO by developing a solid operational structure that has brought needed strength throughout the Safeskin organization. I know the entire Company wishes him the best in his new endeavors. "With this change, however, I intend to become fully involved in the Company's day-to-day operations in addition to my responsibilities for the Company's strategy. As previously announced, we plan to reduce the Company's expense growth and we seek to establish strategic partnerships with our key distributors in order to improve the flow of information necessary to create value for our customers."

In keeping with its strategy of introducing innovative products to meet customer demand, Safeskin will be launching its new powder-free surgical glove at the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) Conference in San Francisco next week. The Company is also rapidly expanding its international network in the medical, synthetic and scientific glove markets.
