I guess it's academic now. Ordinance is hitting targets in Kosovo as we speak. But the scenario you describe of a massive infantry based attack would be an answer to our prayers. To be at all effective, the forces in such an attack would have to be concentrated, providing what we in the Air Force referred to as a target rich environment. If I carried one lesson with me following Desert Storm it was that there is no armor in the world that can defeat a 2000lb. "crowd pleaser" if it is on target.
