Star Data forms an alliance with Wyrex Communications to provide real-time market data to the wireless industry
TORONTO, March 24 /CNW/ - Star Data Systems Inc. (TSE: STY) will provide
real-time, financial market data to wireless subscribers, thanks to a new
co-marketing agreement with Wyrex Communications Inc.
The announcement is expected to be the first of many Star Data will be
making in developing relationships with new strategic partners to help
entrench the company as Canada's leading wealth management solutions provider.
Using an innovative Internet application developed by Wyrex - called
Wysdom(TM), Star Data will deliver stock quotes and market data directly to
PCS digital handsets through Wysdom's short messaging capability. Wysdom,
launched in February 1998, personalizes and brings subscriber requests for
information directly to wireless handsets through a carrier's network.

Star Data and Wyrex are targeting the Fall of 1999 to begin offering
information services, starting with the mobile dissemination of market data,
to both investment professionals and casual users wanting to keep abreast of
the marketplace and their investment portfolios.
