Ya know, I have a friend who is a cop. He
once told me that quite often he encounters
women with handguns in their purse, clearly
in violation of California's concealed weapons
laws. However, he never hassles them about
it because he knows how dangerous it can be
for a woman to be alone. In fact, we seem to
have numerous serial killer/rapists operating
in the State right now. Those 3 women at the
Cedar Lodge (eek, I once stayed there) are only
one indcedent amoung many. For instance, up
at Cal Poly San Luis Obisbo, 3 undergrad girls
have all vanished without a trace in the past
year. One girl left a trail of blood on a bridge
but that is all. Its too bad that women don't
carry weapons but for the most part simply believe
that "it will never happen to them".
