Duker;

It may be that I am not up to date. If not first than second by a hair. Rolls Royce is no competition for GE in the USA and Pratt is a distant second. But you see my point. Also not all business deals work out. So, maybe your smarter than the IBM or EMC execs.? Who knows? I suspect that this has no real bearing on SEG's business. In fact I'm pretty sure that they have known about these deals for some time through the industry grapevine. EMC admits that they've been talking to IBM and testing their equipment for a year. That couldn't be kept secret. This may be one reason why SEG decided to sell off its software business. Also they may have their own deal in the works with some other big company.

You remember, we talked about consolidation in the DD business back in October? Maybe, its not consolidation but the forming of global consortiums that are needed to compete in the next decade. As in the aircraft business. SEG is as global as any independent DD company can be. They have a lot of negotiating power too. We may see an alliance or merger of some kind soon with SEG. I am sure that Luczo is not sitting on his hands. And no, they don't need Al Shugart. They need a deal maker like Luczo. The more I think about these 2 IBM deals, the more I think this may have been a deciding issue in the boardroom last summer.
