Perhaps some of this gain was prompted by Gates' admission that MSFT has been having talks with some of the PC manufacturers about restructuring their OEM licensing procedures and allowing PC makers to muck with the splash screens. Hey, if it moves towards a settlement, it couldn't hurt. Better than a ruling against them. Big Kahuna
