From 3Q99 10-Q:

"The Company's gross margin as a percentage of consolidated net revenue decreased from the second quarter to the third quarter of fiscal 1999."

Gross margin in the fourth quarter was 22.4% according to the press release. According to the 3Q99 10-Q, the gross margin was 22.5%.

Therefore, for at least the last two quarters, the company has experienced a sequential decline in gross margin.

Whether that meets your definition of erosion or that of the previous poster, I'll leave to the two of you to decide. The market already made its initial determination, right or wrong.
