I found this at the Fox web site. I've got a gut feeling that Questec is going to be a BIG part of this. I also think all the folks who have been selling their QSTI of late, are going to be kicking themselves very soon. I love that 1700 figure!!!!
National telecast schedule features 26 nights of hard-hitting MLB action It all starts on Thursday Apr. 8, 1999 FOX Sports Net's national baseball game of the week Baseball Thursday scores again with 26 nights of action and over 50 games on its telecast schedule, it was announced today by Arthur Smith, Executive Vice President of Programming and Production for FOX Sports Net.
Once again, FOX Sports Net regionalizes its telecast schedule to give viewers the best games in prime time. Each week fans will get one of two Baseball Thursday games on their FSN regional sports network featuring a marquee national match up.
Leading off on April 8, Sammy Sosa's Chicago Cubs take on last year's NL Central Division Champion Houston Astros at 8 PM (ET). The late game features the defending AL Central Division Champion Cleveland Indians facing the Anaheim Angels and Mo Vaughn at 10 PM (ET).
"FOX Sports Net delivers viewers an action packed schedule of national games to complement our regional schedules," said Smith. "The unbeatable combination of national and local games, that totals over 1,700 telecasts in 1999, makes FOX Sports Net the leader in Major League Baseball coverage."
The World Champion New York Yankees are featured in 10 telecasts on FSN's Baseball Thursday schedule. Other highlights include: six telecasts featuring Mark McGwire and the St. Louis Cardinals; perennial power Atlanta Braves three times; Ken Griffey Jr's Seattle Mariners twice; Kevin Brown and the Dodgers four times; and last year's NL MVP Sosa and the Cubs two times.
The Baseball Thursday telecast schedule includes Albert Belle and the Baltimore Orioles slugging it out with the Bronx Bombers on April 15. Other areas of the country that evening will see two teams with new aces as the Arizona Diamondbacks and Randy Johnson take on the Los Angeles Dodgers and Kevin Brown.
Other highlights on FOX Sports Net's lineup include sluggers Mark McGwire and Mike Piazza meeting when St. Louis hosts the New York Mets (June 17), and two of the top shortstops in the game battle it out as Alex Rodriguez's Seattle Mariners meet Derek Jeter and the Yankees (Aug. 5). In another exciting contest, the Atlanta Braves face their division rival New York Mets on the final Thursday night telecast (Sept. 30).
The four interleague games feature two classic match ups as the Atlanta Braves take on the New York Yankees, or the battle of Southern California features the Dodgers taking on the Angels (July 15).
Announcers for the Baseball Thursday line up will be released at a later date. Arthur Smith and Bill Borson are the Executive Producers and Larry Meyers is the Coordinating Producer of Baseball Thursday on FOX Sports Net.
