Yeah, the abandoned the laser method, although there is still controversy about whether or not it is or is not more effective than a lamp, the key reason I believe were design flaws using the laser, as well as additional time than using the lamps. I can't really address that with any technical expertise, you may want to check the Yahoo thread for more info.
