I can't decide to go long because of the hype or short because of the facts. Income from continuing operations before the cumulative effect of accounting change in 1998 was $36.7 million, or $1.17 per share, which includes a litigation settlement of $34.4 million, net of related expenses and the $2.0 million gain on the sale of assets. Income from continuing operations for 1997 was $0.8 million, or $0.03 per share. Net income in 1998 was $27.6 million or $0.88 per share compared to $21.4 million or $0.68 per share in 1997. Net income in 1997 includes a favorable impact of $20.6 million related to discontinued operations
