<<Care to back up your SEG has most all of EMC's business statement with facts? Are you trying to scare away SEG folks with statements like this.>> First, I have been posting on this board for several years now, and if you have been reading that long, you would know that I have had a long position in SEG for close to 9 years of varying sizes. At times it has been my largest holding, though it is only number 6 or so right now. So I am not "trying to scare away SEG folks".
Second, I don't know how you want me to "back up" my statement. EMC has long been SEG's largest customer. I could probably go back into filings or into CC notes and find some reference to that, but, frankly, it doesn't seem important enough to me to do so. It is true, if you wish you don't have to believe it, fine. But listen to their next CC, I'm sure the question of EMC and IBM will come up, and SEG will say something like our relationship with EMC is fine and strong, we are selling a lot of product to them, and will continue to do so, they understandably wanted a second source, blah blah blah.
Third, as to the statement that EMC has used IBM for the past year: SEG certainly used to be EMC's sole source of drives. I was not aware that they (EMC) had already started using IBM's drives, I do not know how much they have used, and it would be a surprise to me if the great bulk of EMC's drives over the past year didn't come from SEG. |
