I have received the two books that I had ordered through the mail. One book is the "Trading by the Book" by Joe Ross. This looks to be an excellent book on the short term trading of futures with a focus on breakouts. This also covers the author's use of waves, fib retracements, and technical indicators in conjunction with his price pattern oriented approach to trading. Well-written with numerous examples including a series of back-to-back charts on trading of various markets over a period of time. I do think price patterns is what makes the difference in trading the market, this and good charting skills.

The other book called "Live the Dream by Profitably Day Trading Stock Futures" by Gary Smith. Good description of market insights, indicators that are used to monitor the market, and trading systems with some historical performance data added in. Also many entries from his trading diary along with charts supporting his instruction. I will boost some of his insights and observations from time to time. I am sure some of his statements will surprise some of you here. This guy tells it like it is. But keep in mind his comments are based on trading in a market that is less volatile than the one we are now experience.

As you can see, even when I am not in the market, I cannot keep my mind off of the market.
